The Monadnock Food Co-op named John Kondos, founder of Home-Efficiency Resources, a founding member of The Monadnock Sustainability Network, and the Monadnock Chapter of Citizen Climate Lobby, the 2022 Cooperator of the Year during our Annual Meeting.
Our Cooperator of the Year Award is given out annually to recognize a member-owner, vendor, staff member, or co-op partner who exemplifies cooperative values, integral to cooperatives throughout the world. These values include self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, solidarity, honesty, social responsibility, openness, and caring for others.
The Co-op recognized John for his passion for energy conservation, renewable energy, and land stewardship, which the co-op continues to benefit from. In 2015, John worked to launch the first Community Solar Project hosted by Monadnock Food Co-op. he organizes Drive EV Expos to build support for electric vehicles in our region. Also, John serves as a leader and partner in bringing Fast Charging EV stations to our region and making our Co-op the first location to provide this service.
