Local Foods BBQs at the Monadnock Food Co-op Outdoor Patio, Keene, NH
Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The menu will feature locally grown and made items for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. Local musicians will also perform. Cost: $9/plate.
Farm Tour at Monadnock Berries in Troy, NH
Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a walk around one of the largest blueberry farms in New Hampshire. Discover the story behind these quality products on the Co-op’s shelves. Register today! Cost: Free.
Farm Tour at Walpole Valley Farm in Walpole, NH
Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a walk around the Caserta Family’s farm to learn about pasturing beef, pork and poultry, as well as the logistics of this multi-faceted business. After the tour, a dinner of grass fed burgers are available for purchase at 6pm, before their weekly Movie Night at the Barn at 7pm. Monday, August 17, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Learn to take advantage of the summer bounty of fresh vegetables and fruits to create nourishing and delicious soups – cold and hot – with ease. You’ll sample tasty cooked and raw options and leave inspired to take advantage of this summer’s harvest in your next meal. Cost: $10 donation.
