Megan’s Got the Beet

Congratulations to Megan Straughen, who wears many hats at the Co-op. Megan is our Sustainability Coordinator, Megan Straughen_beet award_April2016Administrator to the Board of Directors, and handles our Accounts Payable – WHEW! She is our tenth employee to receive the Monadnock Food Co-op’s “Beet Award.” CONGRATS MEGAN!

Megan is always a positive light at the Co-op, smiling and friendly. Her passion for her work is infectious and as a result our store continues to become a more sustainable enterprise. She is patient and constructive in identifying and addressing issues, and takes the time to share her knowledge with others. Her ability to manage and coordinate details for the numerous tasks that she undertakes is excellent and as a result the work that she touches goes very smoothly.

She is very understanding and thorough with her work, helping both buyers stay up to date on the processes and vendors get paid on time and resolve payment questions and concerns. Some of her larger most recent accomplishments as our Sustainability Coordinator include a commercial composting system, a roof top solar project and the largest Earth Day event on record.

The “Beet Award” is a quarterly award given to a Co-op staff member who most embodies the spirit of a great co-operator. They display a friendly attitude, help others out without hesitation and are incredible ambassadors of our Co-op. Thank you Megan!
