Coronavirus Update: Keeping Our Co-op Accessible

Dear Co-op Community,

We thank you for all your kind words and support for our staff. It’s a time of such great unknowns. One thing we do know for sure is that we want to continue to serve our community — to be an accessible, downtown food market.

However, like many grocers, we are experiencing difficulty getting some products from our distributors. This is leading to more out of stocks in the store. We do get deliveries every day, so please check back to see if an item is back in stock.

We continue to take steps to ensure the shopping and working experience at our co-op is as safe as possible for our community. We did temporarily end some specific co-op services, that you know and love, in response to the crisis. For example, we closed our hot bar, salad bar, and soup station. Our café seating area is no longer available for dining and community meetings.

However, we will continue to adapt and add more grab & go items, including fresh salads, meal kits, and catering options, to help you bring together your family meals. Our full-service beverage bar remains open are our store hours remain the same.

We are dedicating the first hour our store is open to seniors and those who are more vulnerable to the coronavirus. It’s voluntary, and we won’t enforce this program, but we think it’s important to provide a safe time for more susceptible people to shop. Also, the first hour is one of the slower times for our store.

While we love being a place for our community to gather, we decided to cancel some planned celebrations and gatherings for the safety of all. Most notably, we canceled our Anniversary Celebration scheduled for April 8. Please check our calendar for updates on other event cancellations.

Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, support, and spirit of cooperativeness. We will continue to evolve and find ways to keep our community as healthy and resilient as it can be right now and into the future. Again, please reach out to me with your questions and suggestions at 603-283-5400 or [email protected].

Cooperatively yours,
Michael Faber
