Coronavirus Update: Help Stop the Spread

HELP STOP THE SPREAD

We continue to look for ways to improve the shopping experience and make our co-op as safe as possible. Since our last update, we added a new poster approaching the store, asking all shoppers to wear a mask.

We offer disposable masks near the produce door entrance, in case you don’t have one. Our supply is limited, so it’s best if you bring your own. Several local businesses now offer masks for purchase online, including Beeze Tees in Keene, Brie and Vessie in Westmoreland, Rayo Supply Co in Peterborough, and The Mountain in Keene.

Additionally, thanks for your feedback, we made some changes to the way we stock our dairy aisle since we heard it can feel congested. The changes should make it easier to navigate through that area.

We implemented a new screening process for staff at the start of their shift to ensure that no one is coming to work with any COVID-19 symptoms.

Pay By Credit or Debit
To reduce the amount of cash and change passing back and forth between shoppers and cashiers, we recommend paying by credit or debit card, if you’re able.

Quieter Shopping Times
For those looking to shop at less busy times at our co-op (but don’t fall into an at-risk group), we currently recommend shopping in the late morning. You can also check Google’s Popular Times graph (see the right side of the page and scroll down a bit). It aggregates anonymous data and shows live updates on how busy the store is.

Together, we can #stopthespread

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY

Round It Up for Monadnock United Way’s COVID-19 Relief Fund
Shoppers continue to show strong support for community by donating $4,868.38 to our April Round It Up Donation Drive to benefit the Monadnock United Way COVID-19 Relief Fund. The Monadnock Food Co-op will contribute an additional $500 to bring the total raised to $5,368.38. Monadnock United Way established the COVID-19 Relief Fund with 100% of all dollars raised going directly to agencies to provide relief to families in the Monadnock Region. Thank you all for supporting this effort!

Our co-op holds monthly Round It Up Donation Drives allowing customers to round their purchase up to the nearest dollar, five or ten at the register, and donate their change to a non-profit that works locally and aligns with our mission. Together, we make big impacts with our small contributions.

Here is our schedule for May:

MDS COVID Relief Fund – May 16
Monadnock Peer Support – May 23
Monadnock Food Co-op Farm Fund – Remainder of May

Great Grey Tee Program Ends This Week
Bulldog Designs shared that, as of last Sunday, they sold 7,816 Keene Great Grey Tees – meaning $78,160 in support will go to our local businesses and employees in need! With the anticipated re-opening of many businesses next week, this is the final week of sales.

Each shirt costs $19. The Monadnock Food Co-op will donate all proceeds from the sales of our t-shirts to the Monadnock United Way COVID-19 Relief Fund. Proceeds amount to $10 per shirt sold. Purchase a Co-op Great Grey Tee to support MUW COVID-19 Relief Fund.
