With continued developments relating to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) in our community, we wanted to reach out and assure you that the Monadnock Food Co-op is taking all necessary health precautions to reduce the spread of this virus and let you know how you can help. We will continue to follow recommendations issued by the NH Department of Health and Human Services, the City of Keene, and the CDC. The health and safety of our shoppers and staff is our utmost concern.

Shopper Health & Safety

Monadnock Food Co-op’s food-safety program is among the best in the business. Every day, we follow a strict set of procedures when handling products to prevent foodborne illness and the spread of infection. Many co-op employees are ServSafe® certified, a highly regarded food-safety training program administered by the U.S. National Restaurant Association. We continue to keep surfaces clean and disinfected.

In light of current recommendations, we are increasing our efforts to keep our building clean and safe by increasing the number of surfaces and the frequency of disinfecting those surfaces as per CDC recommendations. We offer disinfecting wipes for customers to use next to our grocery shopping carts in our entry foyer. Also, we have temporarily discontinued all sampling programs and events.

Many retailers, including Monadnock Food Co-op, are seeing an increase in purchases as a result of people preparing for the virus. This has caused some strain on the supply chain and isolated out of stocks in our store. We receive deliveries every day and are doing our best to replenish any low inventory items.

Staff Health & Safety

We understand that ensuring the health and wellness of our co-op staff is integral to ensuring the health and wellness of our broader community. We urge all employees, including those without symptoms, to follow good hygiene practices. If employees do feel ill, we encourage them to stay at home. Our co-op has a generous sick and vacation policy, and we will work with employees on a case-by-case basis to ensure they have the support they need.

We will keep you apprised of any changes to our schedule and any updates to our policies.

We continue to do everything within our power to keep our community safe and healthy. We greatly appreciate your support and help by following the guidelines issued by the CDC to help stop the spread of germs and avoid illness.
