GM Updates: New Lower Price; Small Business Challenges

New Lower Prices

From our Shopper Survey data, we know that our prices are one of the biggest barriers for customers to do more of their shopping with us. We feel it’s essential to be as accessible to our community as possible since we’re the only downtown grocery store in Keene. For these two reasons, we committed to lowering our prices once our expansion was completed and our purchasing power improved.

To realize this goal, we analyzed our center store prices compared to our major competitor. As a result, we made adjustments to over 200 items. You will now find New Lower Price signage under the items we adjusted. Please look for these signs the next time you shop.

Staffing Challenges, Food Inflation, and Supply Shortages

I want to recognize and appreciate all of our Co-op staff working through the combination of some unique challenges. It’s not unusual for a department to be faced with staffing, supply, and food inflation problems all in one day. We appreciate your understanding if you experience service level disruptions impacted by our staffing shortages or if supplier and delivery issues impact the availability of your favorite product. We continue to do our best in the face of these challenges and adapt as quickly as possible to provide a great shopping experience for our customers.

I am grateful for our community’s support and am confident that together we can navigate these challenges. Small businesses throughout our region are facing similar issues. Please join me in thanking other small business owners in our neighborhood who provide valuable services to our community during such a difficult time.

COVID-19 Update

Since our last communication, transmission rates for COVID-19 have increased in our region. We’re following the CDC’s guidance and recommending that all shoppers wear face coverings while inside our store. Since our staff work in such close proximity, for the time being, we require them to wear a face covering while at work.

Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Cooperatively,
