Our Annual Meeting & Celebration is October 25th!

Everyone is welcome to join us for the 9th Annual Meeting and Celebration of the Monadnock Food Cooperative.  The celebration begins at 5 PM on Friday, October 25th, at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel on Railroad Street in downtown Keene.

You’ll be greeted by your friends and neighbors who, like you, value the community created by our co-op.  As a part of this year’s program, we will host the premiere of a film, produced locally, to feature some of the farms that have received support from our co-op’s Farm Fund.

In so many ways, the Farm Fund exemplifies everything that a food cooperative brings to a community.  To answer the question, why does our co-op support the Farm Fund, the answer is found in our End Statements:

  • An accessible, community-owned downtown food market
  • A marketplace that welcomes and connects community
  • A healthy, sustainable food system
  • The support of local farmers and producers
  • Appropriate education and training for the community
  • A strong, sustainable and improving local economy

The Farm Fund is a partnership between our co-op and the Cheshire County Conservation District.  The fund’s mission is to support local farmers to increase sustainable food production and wholesale sales that will contribute to a thriving local farm economy. The Farm Fund empowers local farmers to grow their businesses in ways that feel sustainable and right to them. It also helps the co-op broaden its offerings of locally grown, raised, and made foods — that means more local food for you, your family, and our community.

Our Member-Owners and all our shoppers support the Farm Fund with generous Round It Up donations held several times throughout the year.  In addition, our Member-Owners cooperatively make an additional donation to the fund through our annual budgeting process.

The business portion of our meeting will provide a review of the operations of our store during the year ending June 30, 2019, and a much-anticipated update on our plans to expand the store.

It has been my honor and a great pleasure to serve as your Board’s President for the past 12 months. I am looking forward to greeting old friends and making new ones at this year’s Annual Meeting and Celebration.
