Greetings, Member-Owners!
This year a committee of your Board of Directors has been working diligently to review our Co-op’s By-Laws. It’s important that our Co-op has a strong foundation and we aim to review our bylaws every 5-7 years — we are little overdue. The last review was approved at the 2015 Annual Meeting. The work accomplished through our current review has not resulted in any substantive changes to the intent of our current document. The recommended changes reflect updates in language and processes that correspond to practices that have come into use with adaptations made necessary to manage our business through the challenges of our shared Covid experience that are now common practice. For example, we now include electronic methods of communication and voting.
The revisions have been reviewed by our Co-op’s management, lawyer and Columinate (Cooperative consultants who share best practices).
In order for our member owners to be well informed prior to voting on the By-Laws updates at this year’s Annual Meeting we are preparing to host in-person opportunities for you to learn more and share any questions/insights you have.
To give you, our member-owners, the opportunity to thoroughly prepare for the vote, the draft By-Laws update as reviewed and recommended by our full Board are available on the Co-op website on the Board of Directors Page.
We encourage you to join us in the Community Room at the following times to learn more and share any questions or comments you have:
July 22nd, Monday at 10 AM
August 17th, Saturday at 10 AM
September 11th at 7 PM
We encourage you to contact the Board with any questions you have. Our email is: [email protected]
Cooperatively yours,
Sandy Hamm
