Monadnock Food Co-op Expands Healthy Food For All Program

Our co-op recently expanded our Healthy Food for All Program (HFFA) to include individuals collecting unemployment benefits. Individuals enrolled in this program receive 10% off their purchases at the co-op every day. Last fiscal year, the co-op issued $44,792 in discounts to HFFA participants (a 31% increase over the previous year).

“This is a challenging time for many in our community,” said Michael Faber, Monadnock Food Co-op General Manager. “We want to give more people access to healthy, local, and organic food — especially if they are currently out of work.”

In light of this year’s challenges, we are offering Healthy Food for All participants a free Thanksgiving turkey to add to their dinner table.  Supply is limited and it is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If you are a HFFA participant but haven’t received an email from us, please contact us to update your records or call 603-355-8008.

Shoppers do not have to be a Monadnock Food Co-op Member-Owner to take part in this program. To qualify, individuals need to provide a copy of their SNAP, WIC, unemployment, SSI benefit letter, or a letter from a community partner organization. Participants need to renew annually. Applications are available at the co-op’s customer service desk or online.

Monadnock Food Co-op also boosts healthy food access through its Double Up Food Bucks program, where shoppers who use their EBT Card receive 50% off fruits and veggies (up to $10 off per day).  Learn more about our Double Up Food Bucks program.
