Choose Black-Owned Campaign

Monadnock Food Co-op will join the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA) and over forty partners from twenty states to launch the second annual Choose Black-Owned Month in February, during Black History Month.

Why Celebrate Choose Black-Owned Month?

According to Pew Research, just 3% of U.S. businesses were identified as Black or African-American-owned as of 2020. That’s despite 12.4% of the overall population being Black adults. Removing this disparity leads to increased employment and economic growth.  Learn more!

This campaign urges individuals and businesses to support independent Black-owned businesses and celebrate diversity. The more dollars spent at Black-owned businesses, the more dollars recirculate in the local economy, boosting job growth, charitable giving, and overall prosperity.
