Brookfield Farm: Monadnock Food Co-op Farm Fund Recipient

Believe it or not, first-generation farmers Christian and Holly Gowdy of Brookfield Farm purchased their first cows on their honeymoon. Fast forward twenty-three years and the couple now raises certified organic grass-fed meats, dairy cows, hay, and garden compost.

They used Monadnock Food Co-op Farm Fund dollars to develop a new logo, product labels, their first-ever website and other promotional materials needed to promote their grass-fed beef better. These marketing materials better reflect the story behind Brookfield Farm’s products, and they expect sales to double as a result.

The Farm Fund program empowers local farmers to grow their businesses in ways that feel sustainable and right to them. It also helps the co-op broaden its offerings of locally grown, raised, and made foods —that means more local food for you, your family, and our community.
