FreeThe Monadnock Food Co-op (MFC) Community Book Club aims to create a space for community engagement amongst Co-op Member-Owners and the larger community through thoughtful connections. We strive to be a space that will engage and foster civil dialogue through reading and discussion.
This month the group will read and discuss, The East Indian by Brinda Charry. The author will be joining the group this month to discuss her novel!
About Brinda Charry
Brinda Charry, a professor at Keene State and a local resident of Keene, is the author of “The East Indian,” which was published in May. This novel has garnered recognition by being selected for May’s Indie Next List, a prestigious collection of books chosen by independent booksellers across the nation for their noteworthy and distinctive qualities. It is an Amazon Editors Pick; a Barnes and Noble Discover Pick and has been listed by the Washington Post and the New York Times as a “noteworthy book” and was featured in NBC’s Today Show as a Book of the Week. Overseas it was The Guardian (UK) Book of the Week and The Sydney Morning Herald (Australia) Book of the Week. It has been critically acclaimed by NPR and The New York Journal of Books, among other forums.
