October is Co-op Month: Celebrating the Co-op Connection

Every October, millions of cooperative and credit union members across the United States join the National Cooperative Business Association in celebrating Co-op Month.  This year’s theme, The Co-op Connection, celebrates the many ways co-ops connect with each other, their communities and the world.

On Friday, October 31, 2014 the Monadnock Food Co-op will donate 1% of the day’s sales to the Howard Bower Fund.  This fund offers grants to food cooperatives for the training and education of food co-op staff, managers, and board members.

Since 1930, co-ops across the United States have convened every October to celebrate the cooperative movement’s history and economic impact on communities nationwide. This annual event continues to provide a key opportunity to reflect on the legacy of cooperative impact and the growth of the movement.  Monadnock Food Co-op is proud of its cooperative structure and connection to the more than 30,000 cooperatives across the United States.
