In December 2015, shoppers at the our co-op collectively donated $7,654.23 to the Community Kitchen of Keene. The Monadnock Food Co-op collected these donations during their month-long “Round Up Donation Drive” during in December. Customers rounded-up their purchases to donate their change to the Community Kitchen.
“It’s a perfect example of, quite literally, every penny counting,” said Phoebe Bray, Executive Director of The Community Kitchen. “Feeding an average of 7,000 people a month through our Hot Meals and Pantry Program takes an amazing amount of everything — ingenuity, persistence, reliability and, although it is crass to say it, money. We rely on the support and generosity of the community.”
