This February, Monadnock Food Co-op will join with other food co-ops nationwide to promote the importance of pollinators and the critical role they play in the food system — including pollinating a third of the food that humans eat.
The co-op will host a free “Pollinators Matter: How to Attract and Observe” workshop on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.
This workshop, led by Jodi Turner of Imagine That Honey, will cover beekeeping basics, including preparing and caring for Mason bees. Turner will offer suggestions on how to attract beneficial insects and review a variety of bee house types. While this workshop series is free, registration is required. RSVP online or call 603-283-5401.
From February 13 – 26, shoppers can enter a raffle at the co-op for a chance to win a Cascadian Farm Pollinator Habitat Kit. The kit includes a pollinator house, bee waterer, Xerces Healthy Habitat for Pollinators book, and window cling.
