SUMMARY:CCCD for Cheshire Kids Farm Camp Scholarship
DESCRIPTION:Swing by the Co-op to chat with June’s Round It Up partner\, Cheshire County Conservation District\, to learn more about the Cheshire Kids Farm Camp Scholarship! \nRound It Up donations will support the Cheshire Kids Farm Camp Scholarship\, a program from Cheshire County Conservation District in partnership with Keene Housing Kids Collaborative. This scholarship offers an average of 20 local children financial assistance to attend a week at farm summer camp. A few of the camps include Stonewall Farm\, Orchard Hill\, and Kroka. These camps connect young people with agriculture and the natural world around them. They hope to inspire the next generation of local farmers and local food supporters by giving children an opportunity to attend a farm camp. They are given the opportunity to experience sustainable farming practices first-hand with hopes they will carry the knowledge gained from this memorable experience into adulthood.

SUMMARY:Jaffrey Store Information Session
DESCRIPTION:WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE PLANS TO OPEN A SECOND LOCATION IN THE FORMER RITE AID BUILDING IN JAFFREY\, NEW HAMPSHIRE!!\n  \nInformation Sessions will be held on July 1st from 4-5pm at the Jaffrey Civic Center and July 22nd from 5-6pm at the American Legion in Jaffrey! \n  \nThe building renovations are scheduled to begin in the Spring 2027\, positioning us to open in early 2028! \nThis store will be much like our current location; the store will include fresh\, local and organic produce\, meat\, and specialty cheeses\, a complete selection of pantry staples\, bulk items\, beer and wine\, wellness and more. There will be a large cafe with house-made sandwiches\, sides and salads\, baked goods\, and grab-n-go options for quick\, healthy meals. \nWe extend a huge THANK YOU to our community for all your support as we embark on this project; we’ll need everyone’s help to ensure it is a success! \n\nWHY EXPAND TO JAFFREY\, YOU MIGHT ASK?\nAn additional store in Jaffrey will provide access to local and healthy food choices and allow us to better serve our local farmers\, producers and greater community. \nWE CAN IMPROVE ACCESS TO LOCAL AND HEALTHY FOOD OPTIONS \n\nA full-service Food Co-op will bring great food to the community and provide food accessibility in Jaffrey. This store will expand on our existing services; Healthy Food For All\, WIC\, SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks all significantly reduce the cost of food for program participants ensuring good food is affordable to everyone.\n\nWE CAN SUPPORT MORE LOCAL FARMERS AND PRODUCERS \n\nA Jaffrey Co-op gives local farmers and producers greater opportunities to sell their goods\, providing them with a year-round marketplace supporting their farm viability. 33% of our sales come from local sources and feature over 4K local products across all departments from over 150 local farmers and producers\, resulting in $8.7 million in local sales for FY 2025. Data has shown that $0.66 of every dollar spent locally\, stays in the community!\n\nWE CAN PROVIDE A PLACE TO GATHER IN JAFFREY \n\nWe will have a café for people to gather and have breakfast\, lunch and dinner\, to see and meet new and old friends and neighbors! By making Jaffrey a grocery shopping destination more consumers will visit the town and frequent the other businesses\, improving the local economy.\n\nWE CAN PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL JOBS AND CAREER GROWTH \n\nWe anticipate our Co-op will bring 30-40 new jobs to Jaffrey. Our employees earn livable wages (starting at $17hr) and receive benefits like health\, vision\, dental\, life and disability insurance\, an employee discount\, opportunities for advancement\, and much more.\n\nWE CAN GROW OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT BEYOND KEENE \n\nAs a community owned Cooperative\, we are dedicated to serving and supporting the communities we are in. Our Co-op donations support numerous community causes and our Round It Up program will benefit the local non-profit community and the programs they offer\, providing positive economic Impacts for the community.\n\n  \n\n\n  \nWE KNOW YOU HAVE QUESTIONS!\nDOES MEMBER-OWNERSHIP EXTEND TO BOTH LOCATIONS? \n\nAbsolutely! Member-Owners are encouraged to shop at both stores.\n\nWILL THERE BE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT? \n\nYes! We plan to host info sessions in Jaffrey to share information about our plans and learn more about the community’s needs. Stay tuned for a date!\n\nWILL THERE BE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND CAREER GROWTH?  \n\nYes! We anticipate the Co-op will bring 30-40 more jobs to Jaffrey.  Keep an eye on our Co-ops website for updates.\n\nWHAT ARE THE FINANCIAL RISKS?  \n\nOur first priority is the ongoing health and viability of Monadnock Food Co-op.  While every investment has risk\, we continue to perform due diligence to ensure a strong financial path forward and to minimize project\, budget\, and financial risk to the co-op as we move ahead\n\nHOW CAN COMMUNITY MEMBERS SUPPORT THIS EFFORT? \n\nIf you haven’t already\, please become a Member-Owner of our Co-op! There are a lot of great benefits\, and your show of support is critical as we plan our expansion.  Additionally\, to finance this project\, we need to raise $1.5 million in Member-Owner loans. This is truly a cooperative endeavor – please consider making a loan to support this project! Once the store opens\, shopping in the store is one of the most important ways to support the project.  If you are interested in providing a loan\, please reach out to Michael Faber at gm@monadnockfood.coop\n\n  \nTHANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR CO-OP!

SUMMARY:Menopause & Midlife Health: A Whole Body Approach to Feeling Like Yourself Again
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a FREE wellness lecture with Dr Gene Clerkin!\nMenopause is often talked about as a simple aging issue\, but for many women\, the experience goes far beyond that. \nHot flashes\, brain fog\, weight gain\, sleep disruption\, mood changes… these symptoms can feel frustrating\, confusing\, and at times overwhelming. And while traditional medicine approaches may focus on antidepressants or managing hormones alone\, they often overlook the bigger picture of what’s happening in the body. \nIn this talk\, Dr. Gene Clerkin of Monadnock Natural Health will share a different perspective\, one rooted in over 30 years of working with women navigating these changes. \nRather than focusing on menopause as something to “fix\,” Dr. Gene will explore how stress\, digestion\, inflammation\, and overall body function all play a huge role in how these symptoms show up and how your body moves through this transition. \nYou’ll learn:\n• Why menopause symptoms are often about more than just aging\n• How stress and the nervous system impact hot flashes\, sleep\, and mood\n• The role digestion and detoxification play in hormone balance\n• Simple\, practical ways to support your body naturally \nThis is not about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. It’s about understanding your unique body and system\, supporting it\, and creating the conditions where it can function at its best. Because when your body is supported\, this transition can become not something to fear\, but an opportunity to feel better than you have in years! \nRSVP here!
