DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a little plant love and a festive drink! Whether you are doting on a favorite houseplant or trying to revive one that has seen better days\, this hands-on workshop is all about caring\, nurturing\, and growing what you love. \nParticipants will learn the basics of houseplant care including light\, watering\, soil\, and when to repot\, along with an introduction to some newer and trending houseplant varieties. We will also explore easy propagation techniques so you can share the love and grow your collection. Bring one or two houseplants from home for personalized advice and troubleshooting\, or simply come ready to learn. Everyone will take part in a propagation activity and go home with 5 to 6 newly started plants to grow and enjoy. Each participant will be welcomed with a mimosa or mocktail to enjoy during the workshop. Perfect as a gift to yourself\, a fun outing with a friend\, or a unique Valentine’s experience for plant lovers of all kinds. \nA selection of house plants will be available for purchase including Snake Plants\, Cactus\, Philodendron\, Rubber Trees\, Wandering Dude\, Succulents\, Peperomia\, and many others. DESCRIPTION:Swing by the Co-op to chat with June’s Round It Up partner\, Cheshire County Conservation District\, to learn more about the Cheshire Kids Farm Camp Scholarship! \nRound It Up donations will support the Cheshire Kids Farm Camp Scholarship\, a program from Cheshire County Conservation District in partnership with Keene Housing Kids Collaborative. This scholarship offers an average of 20 local children financial assistance to attend a week at farm summer camp. A few of the camps include Stonewall Farm\, Orchard Hill\, and Kroka. These camps connect young people with agriculture and the natural world around them. They hope to inspire the next generation of local farmers and local food supporters by giving children an opportunity to attend a farm camp. They are given the opportunity to experience sustainable farming practices first-hand with hopes they will carry the knowledge gained from this memorable experience into adulthood.

From June 12th – 28th\, Keene’s second annual Pride Art Crawl will be in full swing to celebrate pride\, creativity\, and community! To complement his work\, MFC will be hosting a staff art show as well. Come check out all the amazing pieces in our cafe! \nVince Coll is an artist currently residing in Swanzey\, New Hampshire\, with a main focus in expressive oil painting. Having grown up surrounded by woods\, he often would find himself daydreaming nonsensical creatures to interact with as a child\, which later on in life has affected his paintings. Most of his works include his own characters\, mainly the Clentipede. In different real life scenarios\, or interacting with real life objects and buildings that are consistently in his life. He is often inspired by the world around him\, and how he can elevate it to match his daydreams.

Enjoy the setting sun over a beautiful farm landscape and learn about the benefits of cover crops\, soil health\, and pest management as we tour Picadilly Farm and get a close-up look at different planted cover crops! \nLearn more about the different types of cover crops (clover mix\, perennial alfalfa\, winter rye\, buckwheat\, etc)\, how they are transitioned throughout the year\, the tools used for best cover crop management practices\, and how different grants and other resources can support cover crops on your farm! \nUpon attendance\, producers are eligible for a pesticide application credit\, a sign-up for a 25lb bag of cover crop seed mix\, and a stipend for their time! \nPresented by Cheshire County Conservation District\, Picadilly Farm\, UNH Extension\, The Monadnock Food Co-Op\, Connecticut River Watershed Farmers Alliance\, and Windham County Natural Resources Conservation District. \nRegister HERE! \nThis project was made possible by the NH State Conservation Committee Conservation Moose Plate Grant Program.
