About Sarah Barkhouse
Sarah Barkhouse has been growing and arranging flowers organically in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire since 2007, ever since taking a year-long farming internship at age 25. Following that internship, she obtained a degree in Horticulture from UMass Amherst’s Stockbridge School of Agriculture and in 2012 established Vera Flora Farm. Sarah has been captivated by gardening and flower arranging since she was a child and takes her inspiration from the New England seasons. She also adores keeping a mixed flock of chickens.
About Vera Flora Farm
Vera Flora Farm is a small-scale specialty cut flower farm and design studio located in a magical, sunny hollow in Gilsum, NH. It is a family run business that grows over a hundred different varieties of flowers on three quarters of an acre using only organic and low to no-till farming practices. They sell fresh flowers May- October at the Monadnock Food Co-op in Keene, through their popular Flower CSA program, special order arrangements, and wholesale to local florists. Vera Flora also specialize in providing fresh flowers for weddings and events throughout southern NH and VT, and their dried flower wreaths and arrangements are sold online through their webshop and at select retailers in the area.
