Music & Art in the Forest Open House
September 27 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join The Sustainability Project for its Annual “Music and Art in the Forest” Open House Celebration. This year’s event features a Solar Sisters’ concert, tours of the center’s trails (some of which are wheelchair accessible) and an exhibition of sculptures by the late Susan O’Hara. Throughout the day, a lively group of volunteers will be on hand to share their love and passion for the natural world and lead pandemic safe activities. Learn about the 13 core routines for connecting with nature, common across indigenous cultures worldwide, and permaculture principles for living in concert with nature. As a safety precaution, food will not be served this year, but families and pods are encouraged to bring their own snacks or a picnic lunch. There will be two scheduled tours of the nearby Piedmont-Fleischmann off-grid solar powered homestead, which features edible forest gardens and wheelchair accessibility.
While there is no admission fee, donations to support The Sustainability Project’s endeavors are gratefully accepted. The Sustainability Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization, promotes a love of nature, environmental stewardship, caring communities and ways of living that deepen our understanding of the interconnected web of life.
