Celebrating local farms & food! We are so fortunate to have access to locally grown food here in the Monadnock Region. In honor of New Hampshire Eat Local Month, we are holding a photo contest to celebrate. Click here for details.
Three organizations that support local organizations, businesses and tourism in our region, SouthwestNH Guides, Monadnock Community Market Co-op and Monadnock Buy Local, are teaming up to launch an online photo contest on Facebook: “Celebrate Local Farms and Food” in honor of New Hampshire Eat Local Month. Photographs of Monadnock Region local food and farms must be submitted before midnight Sunday, August 29, 2010 on the Monadnock Region – NH Facebook Page at http://www.facebook.com/visitmonadnock.
The winning photographer will receive a $25 gift certificate to one Monadnock Buy Local (MBL) Member Business or a $25 credit towards a Monadnock Community Market Co-op (MCM) membership. MBL members are locally-owned businesses and are listed at http://monadnocklocal.com. More information on MCM membership is at http://monadnockcommunitymarket.com.
Monadnock Region – NH is the official Facebook fan page for SouthwestNH Guides and VisitMonadnock.com. Its mission is to provide a completely FREE resource for people interested in learning more about the beauty and wonder of visiting, working and living in New Hampshire’s Monadnock Region.
The Monadnock Community Market Co-op is creating a member-owned cooperative food store with the mission to connect us with local sources of food whenever possible. The Co-op welcomes neighbors, connects community, and contributes economically to build a healthy & sustainable food system and community.
Monadnock Buy Local is a volunteer-led initiative that promotes locally-owned and independent businesses to build a strong local economy and a vibrant community. In addition to producing an annual printed directory of locally-owned businesses, MBL will promote the benefits of shopping locally through the 10% Shift, community events and promotions, provide MBL members with networking opportunities and will market locally-owned businesses on MBL’s website, blog and social media networks.
