CANstruction, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that holds annual design and build competitions to construct fantastic, giant sized, structures made entirely out of canned food. In each city after the structures are built and the winners declared the creations go on view to the general public as giant art exhibits. At the close of the competitions all of the food used in the structures is donated to the local food banks for distribution to community emergency feeding programs.
This year, Keene State College, the Keene Community Kitchen and Scully Architects will be hosting its second annual CANstruction competition. Student organizations and local businesses have been invited to submit designs for the competition. The date of the build is scheduled for Sunday, November 6th both on campus (in the L.P Young Student Center) and throughout the Keene Community (locations are still to be determined).
Judging for the competition will take place on Monday, November 7th at 6pm.
After the judging commences, a gala will be taking place to present the awards on Tuesday, November 8th from 6pm-8pm at Keene State College.
If you are interested in attending the 2nd annual Gala event to help recognize the efforts made by Sponsors, Supporters, Coalition Members, Advisors, Mentors, Team Members, and anyone else who contributed to the competition, please RSVP by November 2nd to Alyssa Day at firstname.lastname@example.org or 603-358-2615
