On behalf of the Monadnock Food Co-op, we thank everyone who contributed to the success of our Grand Opening Celebration on June 20-22, 2013, with nearly 3,000 shoppers and 40 local farmers and producers in attendance.
It was gratifying to hear from Craig Thompson at Mayfair Farm in Harrisville, NH at our Grand Opening Ceremony on Friday. He shared how the co-op’s presence is already significantly helping him as a small local producer. This year, he’s doubled his egg production, beef herd and employees compared to last year.
Thank you to the following people for volunteering their time and services: Kevin Dremel from the Keene Music Festival, Michelle Clark from the Marriot, Charcoal Charlie, The Santa Croce Band, Steve Hooper of Hooper Visuals, Bonnie Hudspeth of the Neighboring Food Co-op Association, Kelly Giard for organizing our incredibly fun Flash Mob, Kristina Wentzell from the Happy Camper Mobile Art Gallery, Trevor the Games Man and Dr. Rich from Cheshire Wellness Center.
We thank our vendors who joined us to celebrate — offering samples, raffle items and great conversations: W.S. Badger, The Bread Shed, Cabot, Chai Wallah, Cheshire Garden, Chunks of Energy, Clarke Distributors, Coombs Family Farm, Crofter’s Organic, Earth’s Supergrains, Echo Farm Puddings, Flora, Aura Cacia, Garden of Life, Grafton Village Cheese, GuS, Hedgie’s Hot Stuff, Holland Homestead, Hot Juan’s Smoky Salsa, Katlalyst Kombucha, Manning Hill Farm, Mayfair Farm, MegaFood, Merrymeeting Farm, NH Village Foods, New Chapter, Orchard Hill Breadworks, Peter’s Old Fashioned Pies, Purity Organic, Sawyer’s Artisanal Cheese, Stonewall Farm, Throwback Brewery, Tomina’s, Tree Free Greetings, True North Granola, Walpole Creamery, Walpole Mountain View Winery, Walpole Valley Farms, White Birch Brewery and With Good Reasons.
Also, we want to thank our amazing staff and board of directors for all they do to make our community-owned grocery store (and more) great.
We look forward to many more events at the co-op, strengthening community, our regional food system and local economy.
