Celebrate New Hampshire Eat Local Month

Throughout the month of August, we’ve got events lined up that highlight our great state, celebrate our farmers and local food producers, and give you inspiration to eat more local food all year long!

Friday, August 5: Local Food BBQ — 5-7:30pm at the co-op
Join us for a farm-to-table meal prepared from scratch by our Prepared Foods Department, and finished on the grill. Only $10 per plate!
(vegan and gluten free options available)
Food is sourced from local farms & producers and family-friendly live music on the lawn is provided through Keene Music Festival. Bring a picnic blanket or pull up a chair & kick off NH Eat Local Month with something delicious!

 Wednesday, August 10: Workshop “Fermentation & Kombucha Revealed  6-8pm — RSVP Required across from the co-op
Have you always wanted to try preserving the summer harvest through fermentation or dreamed of brewing your own kombucha, but are ever so slightly intimidated? Fear not! Erica Frank, RDN, LD will clarify the process, while illuminating why fermented foods are so nutritious. Each participant will leave with their own kombucha starter and the knowledge to brew with it! at the Orchard Hill Community, East Alstead, NH
Monadnock Food Co-op is a proud sponsor of NH Permaculture Day! An annual gathering of teachers, learners, practitioners, activists and supporters, where you will find workshops, demonstrations, skill sharing, food and more!
Permaculture is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered on simulating or using the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. We are so excited this event is held in the Monadnock Region this year. If you have any interest in permaculture, ecological or smarter design, get your tickers here.
