Have you heard?
The Monadnock Community Market (MCM) Co-op is a group of over 400 Monadnock Region residents who, through a combination of volunteer power and member-owner’s financial investments/equity, plan to build a locally-focused, community-owned grocery store in the heart of downtown Keene.
What will the MCM Co-op be like?
The MCM Co-op will be a 12,000 sq. ft. full-service food store with a diverse selection of local and high-quality foods. It will include departments such as dry grocery, meat, produce, frozen food and dairy, beer and wine, as well as specialty departments such as a deli with a prepared foods section and a grab and go section, and a small café seating area.
Never owned a business before?
You’re in good company – it is a first for many member-owners as well, but that hasn’t stopped us from investing together to support local farms, healthy food, and to help build a space where the community can gather.

What are the benefits of member-ownership?
- If the MCM Co-op does well, you do well – MCM Co-op profits are returned back to member-owners in the form of dividends.
- You own the business with about 1,000 of your friends, neighbors, and community members and put your money where your values are.
- Members receive extra perks from local merchants who support the MCM Co-op; so far we have offered members free locally roasted coffee and deep discounts on yoga – with more to come.
Join the over 400 Monadnock Region residents who have signed up by paying a one-time $200 fee instead of an annual charge. Your membership ensures that we’ll open on time, providing fresh, healthy, quality food in a store you can walk to.
